GRANITE COUNTERTOP CARE GUIDE
To keep your new granite countertops in top condition, a few simple maintenance procedures are suggested.
• Clean the counter daily with a soft white cloth and a neutral cleaner or stone soap.
• Do not use the following products as they may damage your granite countertops: tub and tile cleaners,
ammonia, soft paste cleaners, vinegar, lemon juice, window cleaners, powdered alkaline cleaners
(i.e. Comet, Ajax), or general purpose kitchen cleaners (i.e. 409).
• Rinse the granite thoroughly after cleaning and dry with a soft cloth. If streaking occurs, buff the surface with a clean white terry towel.
• Blot spills immediately with a clean paper towel. Don't wipe the area. It will spread the spill.
Flush the area with plain water and mild soap and rinse several times. Dry thoroughly with a soft cloth. Repeat as necessary.
• Use coasters under all glasses, particularly those containing alcohol or citrus juices.
• While granite is heat resistant, we do not recommend that you place hot items directly on the stone surface. Use trivets or mats.
• Your countertops come to you sealed with a water-based sealant. Depending on your cleaning habits,
you may occasionally need to reapply this sealant. We recommend reapplication of sealant every 6 months to a year.
• To avoid scratching the surface, do not cut directly on the countertop. Use a cutting board to protect the surface.
• Do not expose your countertops to harsh chemicals such as drain, oven, or toilet bowl cleaners.
